Albertson's Doubler Run 11/6

So, although I have continued to coupon a bit, I have not been blogging it on here as promised (so sorry!) because I swear days have somehow gotten shorter!  I don't know what happened, but seriously, I feel like I am busy all the time since the move!  I am going to try to take an hour or two a couple times a week, however, to try to keep you all somewhat in the loop as to what is going on with sales.  Albertson's has doublers again this week (until Tuesday), so if you happen to have gotten the paper, there are some great deals to be had (and if you didn't, no worries, they will be in the paper again soon enough)!  This is what I got today:

STAPLES: FREE BATTERIES!!

Staples is running their battery special again!  I am so excited because we were in desperate need of some AA batteries.  Now through Saturday (the 29th), you can get 100% of your purchase of AAA or AA Duracell batteries back in Staples rewards (max 2)!  They were running this special about 6 months ago and I was able to do some significant stocking up on batteries (with 3 boys you go through A LOT!!).  I used the Staples Rewards to "buy" ink for my computer, so although I paid out of pocket for the batteries, I got a bunch of ink free for my printer.  Here is how you can get in on this deal:

1.  First, if you are not a Staples Rewards member, you will need to sign up.  You can do so here or I am assuming you can also do so in the store.  Having a Rewards membership is good for more than just this deal.  You get regular coupons and they track what you buy so you get a percentage of that back as well in Rewards.  Also, if you recycle ink cartridges there, you get $2 per cartridge, up to 10 per month.

2.  Go to Staples and buy one or two Duracell AA or AAA 16-count batteries.  Make sure that the UPC of the batteries matches the one in the ad.  These are $9.99 each.

3.  If you want an even better discount, you can use the $0.50/1 coupon found in the P&G from 10/16.

4.  Your total (after coupons) will be $18.98 plus tax.  You will then get that amount back in Staples Rewards that you can use towards anything in the store!

They did this a couple months in a row last time, so I am hoping I can stock up again in time for Christmas.  :)

Albertson's Doubler Run 7/19

LAST DAY for Twice the Value coupons this time around.  I waited until this afternoon to go, which probably wasn't the best since most of the items on sale were out already.  Luckily, I have a pretty decent relationship with my Albertson's so I am able to pre-pay for things now if they are out of stock.  This is really useful when items I want have catalinas attached to them that will only print until a specific date.  I could get a raincheck, but some of these deals are only good BECAUSE of the catalinas.  Take the "breakfast" promotion right now at Albertsons.  If you buy any 4 participating items, you get one $2 from the manufacture, one $2 catalina from the store AND a free milk catalina.  These cereals/bars aren't that great of a price even on sale, but when you factor in catalinas, you can get stuff for VERY cheap!  Here is what I did today (note there is no picture because I don't have the items yet):

Transaction #1

4 Fiber One Brownies, on sale for $2.50--These are what I pre-payed for
-$0.75/1 from 7/17 SS x 4
-Doublers x 3

-$4 in catalinas from yesterday

TOTAL OOP  $0.75
Got 2-$2 catalinas and a FREE milk catalina

Transaction #2

4 Fiber One Brownies, on sale for $2.50
-$0.75/1 from 7/17 SS x 4
-Doublers x 3

-$4 in catalinas from yesterday

TOTAL OOP  $0.75
Got 2-$2 catalinas and a FREE milk catalina

Transaction #3

2 Chips Ahoy Chewy Gooey Cookies, on sale for $2
-$1/1 Printable NLA x 2
-Doublers x 2

3 S&W Beans, on sale for $1.19
-$0.75/1 printable
-Doubler

-$2 catalina

TOTAL OOP  $0.07

So, I spent a total of $1.57 and saved $42!

Albertson's Doubler Run 7/18: FREE MILK!

I drove all the way across town today to go to the Albertson's over there because I thought it would have more stuff in stock since it was bigger.  I was SEVERELY disappointed!  Almost everything I wanted was gone and I wasn't able to do the deals I wanted with what they did happen to have in stock.  So, I decided to go to the Albertson's closer to me to see if MAYBE they had some stuff and if not, at least I could grab the milk I needed.  They actually had some of what I was hoping for in stock!  I was shocked!!  AND I found some great "Manager's Markdown" specials.  There was Jennie-O Lean ground turkey on sale for $1.99!  AND I found some organic milk on sale for $2.99!!!  That is cheaper than regular milk costs!  I was super excited.

This is what I ended up getting today:

Spent $10.18, SAVED $74.32!!

Weekly Diaper Deals, July 3-9

I started doing weekly diaper deals because The Thrifty Couple stopped doing them for a while.  Of course, although I had good intentions, it was pretty hard for me to find the time every week to sit down and do these.  I am SO excited because The Thrifty Couple is back doing them, so I am just going to post their blog post on Facebook each week in place of my weekly diaper deals.  :)  I know this may seem like taking the easy way out, but sometimes you just have to choose what is more important--Time with the kiddos or weekly diaper deals. ;)

So, for this week here is their post on the deals around town:

Cheap Diapers and Wipes:  The Best Deals on Diapers and Wipes This Week 7/3-79

And here is their post on the best Amazon diaper deals this week:

Amazon:  Cheap Diapers, Training Pants and Wipes This Week 7/3-7/9

Enjoy!

Bountiful Baskets Produce

A few weeks ago at a class I was teaching I was told about this produce co-op called Bountiful Baskets.  I decided I would look into it and see what it was all about.  I purchased my first basket last week and WAS NOT disappointed!!  I paid $19.50 for my first basket.  This included a one-time fee of $3 for a first time basket (it covers the laundry baskets they sort the food in) and $1.50 for a handling fee.  So, normally a "basket" is $15 (plus the $1.50 fee).  It is not organic produce, so that is kind of a bummer, but I honestly have never been a huge "have-to" eat organic person.  It is definitely a plus, but never really a must.

The "basket" I got this last week contained one laundry basket (the smaller round ones) of fruit and one of veggies.  And there was A LOT of it.  This is all of the stuff that I got in my basket:

I went onto Safeway's home delivery and priced out what all this would have cost.  I realize that the home delivery prices for produce are average prices of items and that they tend to be a little bit higher than they are in the store (but not a huge difference).  The cost of all of this would have been $46.95 had I gotten it from Safeway!  So, I saved at least half (always my goal)!!

There are some major pros and some cons to this co-op.  A pro is that it is super cheap!  Another one is that it is "one-stop" shopping.  Another nice thing is that you order it each week.  So, if you have a ton left over from the previous week, you don't have to get a basket that week.  A con is that there is a REALLY short window of time that you are able to go pick up your produce.  Mine was from 10-10:20 (yes, only 20 minutes) on Saturday morning or they will donate the produce.  Not the most convenient time.  Another down fall is that you are not able to choose what is in your basket.  It is just what they happen to purchase that week.  Every thing that was in my basket on Saturday is stuff that we will definitely eat, so it wasn't a huge problem.

Bountiful Baskets is a co-op.  This means that with the contributions from people who purchase baskets, they just buy a lot of produce straight from the warehouse at the price the stores are getting it for.  That is why the baskets are so affordable.  It is the exact same produce the grocery stores are getting (it isn't rotten or old or anything like that).  If you choose to participate on a regular basis in this co-op, you will need to volunteer once every two months or so.  This is how they are able to run the program.

To sign up for a basket, go here.  There is some additional information on this page if you want to read more about it.  Each week you can purchase a basket.  You can "contribute" (which is how they word purchasing a basket) from noon on Monday to 10pm on Tuesday Mountain Time.  You can only pay with a credit card (or a debit with a credit card logo on it) online at this time.  It is not available EVERYWHERE, so make sure you check to see when and where they are in your area.  There are some select area that carry organic (Eastern WA being one of them) baskets and those are $23 each.

SNAPFISH: 99 Photos for $6.72 SHIPPED

From now until July 9th you can get 99 photos (4 x 6) for only $0.99 (plus $5.89 for shipping)!!  AND it gets better!  If you do it through Ebates, you will get a whopping 16.5% back on your purchase!!  This makes it about $0.07 per print.  Costco is $0.13 per print, so this is great deal!  I am definitely going to be taking advantage of it!

If you have never heard of Ebates before, it is a website that you can sign up for (you automatically get $5 just for signing up) and then when you make any certain online purchases, if you do it through them, you can earn a percentage of your purchase back.  They actually send you a check in the mail every quarter or so!  They do not have ALL online retailers on their site, but they do have quite a few.

How you would go about doing this specific deal:

1.  Go to Ebates.com here.  Sign up if you have not already.  It is totally free and, like I said, you will automatically get $5 added to your account!

2.  Search for "Snapfish" in the upper right side where it says "Search Stores or Coupons or Products"

3.  This will bring up Snapfish and will tell you the percentage back (which should be 16.5%!).  Click the orange box/bubble that says "Shop Now"

4.  This will take you to Snapfish.  You will need to sign up for Snapfish if you have not already, but it is free as well.

5.  Upload the pictures you want and add them to your cart.  After you click checkout, put in the promo code JULYPENNY99 and it will bring your total down to $0.99 before shipping and any applicable taxes.

6.  Check out and wait for your awesome memories to appear in the mail!

Update on Nature Valley Thins

If you read the post yesterday, I was pretty bummed that both Albertson's Stores near me were out of the Nature Valley Thins that were triggering some great catalinas.  Today I went in and asked the manager if I could pre-pay for some and then just pick them up when they came in.  He let me do that since they were still going to be able to order them at the price point for the week through today.  I just had to fill out a special request form and then take it up to the cashier.  Of course, if you are thinking of doing this as well, you should definitely ask the store manager before doing so.  I went in this morning when there weren't many people, so it wasn't a huge ordeal.  However, if you go during rush hour, the manager may not let you do this.  Here is what I was able to get today (no picture because most of it is still coming in the mail):

Transaction #1

5 Nature Valley Granola Bars, on sale for $2.50
-$0.75/1 from 6/26 SS x 5
-3 Doublers
TOTAL OOP  $6.50
Got a FREE Milk Catalina for buying 4 participating products, a $3 OYNO for purchasing 5 Nature Valley, and a $5 OYNO (BONUS catalina)

Transaction #2

5 Nature Valley Granola Bars, on sale for $2.50
-$0.75/1 from 6/26 SS x 5
-3 Doublers
-$5 OYNO from above
TOTAL OOP  $1.50
Got a FREE Milk Catalina for buying 4 participating products, a $3 OYNO for purchasing 5 Nature Valley, and a $5 OYNO (BONUS catalina)

Transaction #3

2 Gerber Graduates Puffs, on sale for $2.09
-$1/2 printable
-Doubler

2 Jamba Juice Smoothie Mixes, on sale for $2.50
-$1/1 printable x 2
-2 Doublers

-$3 OYNO from before

TOTAL OOP  $0.18

So, today I spent $8.18.  I saved $45.28.  AND I got 2 FREE milk catalinas, 2 $5 OYNO catalinas and 2 $3 OYNO catalinas.  I used two of those catalinas already, so I MADE $8 in catalinas and 2 gallons of milk from these transactions (so I basically am only spending $0.18 for all of that!).

Find out how you can save money (or MAKE money) like this!  I will teach you how at my Strategic Shopping Class!  Schedule yours today!

Let me know if there are any other deals out there that I missed. :)

Albertson's Doubler Run 6/27

Albertson's has some pretty great deals on dairy this week.  There are quite a few opportunities to get some FREE milk (and with little money out of pocket to get the free milk!).  I love getting things I have to get (and that rarely have coupons) for free!

I was pretty bummed that all the Nature Valley Granola Thins were gone this morning when I went shopping.  I would have made some money doing that deal (see Coupon Connections post here).  I guess I should have gone in yesterday sometime to get them, I just really didn't think they would be all out already today!  Oh well.  Another classic example of being flexible.  :)

A note on these transactions:  There is something funky going on with Albertson's tax making it negative.  I don't know why, but when you redeem coupons, it is putting the tax in the negative, so I am actually paying LESS for stuff than I really should.  I have brought it to the attention of the cashiers, but they don't know how to fix it.  So, if things don't quite add up here, that is why.

Here is what I was able to get today:

STORE DEALS
AMAZON

Amazon usually has some pretty great deals on diapers.  This is normally where I get my diapers because I can usually get them for FREE!  To find out how to get FREE diapers at Amazon, head over to my post here.  Even without the 20% discount codes and no Swagbucks gift cards, it seems like Amazon consistently has really good prices.  They have also recently added "coupons" that you can clip for Pampers diapers, bringing the price down even more.  :)  It is definitely usually cheaper than Costco and delivered to your doorstep for FREE (if you are an Amazon Mom member-free to join).

Get 4 Yogurts and MILK for only $1 TOTAL!

Albertson's doublers are coming this weekend (YEAH!) and here is a great deal scenario on how you can use them (thanks Queen Bee Coupons!) to get Yogurt and MILK for only $1.

When you buy any four participating products, you will $4 off milk (ANY MILK, including Organic!!)

Here are some of the things included in this sale

-Dannon Activia or Light and Fit
-Danimals Crush 4 pack
-Danimals Drinkables
-Coolision or Dan-o-nino 6-pack

These are $2 each.  There are three different coupons you can use:

-$1/1 Dannon Danimals product, 6/5 SS
-$1/1 Dannon Dan-o-nino, 6/5 SS
-$1/1 Dannon Activia, 6/5 RP

Deal Scenario:

Buy 4 Dannon Yogurt at $2 each
-$1/1 coupon of your choice from above (must match product purchasing) x 4
-Doubler x 3
Total = $1
Get $4 to use on ANY milk!!

Queen Bee makes it look like you can buy the milk IN THIS TRANSACTION, so make sure you buy it with the yogurt.  In other scenarios you might get a free milk catalina (like the cereal scenario), but I think this one you might be purchasing the milk at the same time.

Make sure that you get your doublers this weekend by SUBSCRIBING to the Tacoma News Tribune.  I have a great special here on my blog where you can get the Sunday paper DELIVERED to your door for only $1 per copy!  That is HALF the newsstand price and you are GUARANTEED to get your papers!!  You can read about all the details here.

LIVING SOCIAL: Full Circle Farms Produce only $18!

Full Circle Farms is a great local CSA that DELIVERS (most areas now) organic produce to your doorstep weekly or bi-weekly.  They are offering a daily deal on Living Social TODAY ONLY of $18 for your first box of produce!  This is a great deal if you have been wanting to check them out, but haven't wanted to pay full price for a box.

I love Full Circle for many reasons.  I love that it is delivered to my house (I used to have to pick it up, but it was still like "one stop shopping").  I do go to multiple stores usually on a weekly basis, but I always hated buying produce because I never knew if I was getting the best possible price.  Also, you are not only able to see what is in your box prior to your box arriving and you can substitute items if you don't need/like/want them.  I also love that it is risk free.  You can cancel your subscription at any time.  It is also great because, although they are from Carnation, WA, they get produce from places like Mexico and Canada (CSA certified as well), so I get Mangos and Tomatoes (and other "summer" produce) in the middle of winter.  It isn't completely based on what is in season.

I normally get the family size box delivered to my house every two weeks.  That is usually more than enough produce for my family of 5.  They also have a smaller option for couples or smaller families.

This deal is valid only for new customers.  You can buy one per household and additional gifts for other households.  This credit is good for $37 worth of produce (which I think might be the smaller box since I pay $46 every other week), but you can pay the difference if you want the bigger box.  Make sure to visit www.fullcircle.com to see if you are in their delivery/pick-up area.  You can cancel at any time.

When you sign up online, please put Sandra Shaw as the person who referred you.  :)  I would be VERY happy!!

How to get this deal:

Go to Living Social and sign up (it is totally free) or log-in.  The deal is under the Tacoma deals.

Buy your voucher.  Once you have the number, so to www.fullcircle.com and order your first box.

Enjoy your produce!
